website redesign

A redesign that fixes what’s actually holding your site back.

Most websites don’t fail all at once. They slip: slower pages, layouts that break on phones, plugins nobody dares update, and copy that no longer matches what you do. I rebuild sites on a clean, fast foundation and carry over everything worth keeping, especially your search rankings.

What’s included

  • An audit firstSpeed, security, search rankings and how visitors use the site, so the redesign fixes real problems, not just the look.
  • Your rankings protectedEvery old page address is mapped to its new home with permanent redirects, so the visibility you’ve built carries over instead of disappearing at launch.
  • A clean technical foundationNo more dozens of plugins patched on over the years. A lean rebuild removes the technical debt that slows sites down and makes them risky to update.
  • Content carried over and improvedPages, posts and images moved across and reformatted, with copy tightened for clarity, search and AI tools.
  • Mobile-first designRebuilt for the phone first, where most of your visitors now arrive.
  • Before-and-after you can seeAnalytics carried over and Search Console monitored, so you can measure the difference.

It’s time to redesign if…

  • Your site looks datedor no longer reflects what you do.
  • It’s slow or awkward on a phone.
  • You’re afraid to update itin case something breaks.
  • It brings in few inquiriesor you can’t tell whether it does.

how it works

A redesign without the downtime

Step 1 Free

Free audit

A scorecard of what’s holding your current site back, and what a redesign should fix.

Step 2

Rebuild on staging

The new site is built on a private copy while your current site keeps running. You review it before launch.

Step 3

Launch and ongoing care

Old addresses redirected and everything tested, then ongoing care so the site doesn’t drift out of date again.

Big site or small, the details get handled.

From a ten-page practice site to a publication with hundreds of articles, I handle the migration details most redesigns get wrong: redirects, content, images and search settings.

“Gabe Seiden and Connect4 Consulting helped me do a full-scale and full-service redesign of an old WordPress website… 300+ articles needed to be migrated and reformatted; 25+ custom page layouts created; 3,000+ photos migrated.”

Common questions

Will I lose my Google rankings?

Not if the redesign is done carefully. I map every existing page address to its new location with permanent redirects, carry over titles and descriptions, resubmit your sitemap at launch, and watch Search Console afterward for anything that slipped.

Will my site go down during the redesign?

No. The new site is built on a private staging copy, and your current site stays live until the switch.

Do I need a full redesign?

Not always. Sometimes the audit shows that targeted fixes (speed, mobile layout, a clearer homepage) get most of the benefit for less. I’ll tell you which makes sense. Read: Technical Debt →

Can you redesign a site that isn’t on WordPress?

Yes. Sites on Wix, Squarespace and other platforms can be moved to WordPress, content included. The audit will show what the move involves.

How much does a redesign cost?

It depends on the size of the site, how much content moves over, and what needs rebuilding. After your free audit, I send a written proposal with a clear quote, so you know the full cost before anything starts.
